Always place your effusion lamp on a flat, protected and stable surface. Plate, glass, marble or stoneware surfaces are recommended. Do not place your effusion lamp directly on wood or finished surfaces.
Step 1 – Fill
- La Tee Da! recommends using their effusion fragrances only. La Tee Da! fragrances are formulated for use exclusively with the La Tee Da! wick & burner assembly.
- Use the funnel to pour the effusion fragrance into the lamp. Fill the lamp 1/3 to 2/3 full. Do not overfill as your lamp will not function properly.
- Wipe lamp carefully to clean any fragrance spills.
Step 2 – Insert Wick
- While holding the lamp, insert the wick & burner assembly. It should fit into the collar and be fully seated.
Step 3 – Replace Cap
- Replace the solid metal cap.
- Wait 20 to 30 minutes before lighting to allow the fragrance to completely saturate the stone.
Step 4 – Light
- Remove the solid metal cap.
- Light the stone using and match or lighter.
- Let the flame burn 3 – 5 minutes.
- DO NOT place the vented crown over an open flame.
Step 5 – Blow Out the Flame
- Blow out the flame. Your effusion lamp is now working.
Step 6 – Enjoy
- Once the flame has been blown out, replace the vented crown over the burner. Do not touch the burner stone – it will be hot!
- Leave the effusion burner open (on) for as long as your require fragrance to be released. It typically takes 1 hour to fragrance an average size home.
- If you prefer a fragrance that is less strong, mix La Tee Da! Dilute with your fragrance. This tones down the fragrance.
Step 7 – Extinguish
- Remove heavy vented crown. CAUTION: The crown may be hot. Use a glover or oven mit.)
- Replace the solid metal cap to extinguish the burner.
- DO NOT refill your lamp until the wick & burner is completely cool.
- If not using your effusion lamp for an extended period (3 – 4 weeks or more) – remove any remaining fragrance. Allow parts to dry completely before storing.
Step 8 – Replace Cap
- Be sure and replace the solid metal cap after each use or the fragrance will evaporate.
